About the Plan

Dress Up was one of my favorite games as a child. Whether it was the treasured bin of dress up clothes accumulated over various Halloweens and thrift store scores, or the musty faux fur coats left behind by a friend’s grandmother, dress up let us pretend to be anything from princesses to warriors.

Building this wardrobe for my daughter’s birthday was a lot of fun, so I wanted to share the plans. It’s a simple build that is made to assemble and disassemble simply, and is the same on either side. It can be assembled in just a matter of minutes, without tools.

The wardrobe is constructed out of a single 4×8 sheet of plywood, and, as is only fitting, dressed to the nines. The tool-less assembly is thanks to simple dados that allow it to notch together. Or, if you prefer, you can make it even simplifier with pocket hole joinery.
